Analysis of Factors Influencing Asphalt Pavement Work Quality in the Bungku – Bahodopi – Southeast Sulawesi Border Road Preservation Project

This study investigates the critical factors influencing the quality of asphalt pavement work within the scope of the Bungku – Bahodopi – Southeast Sulawesi Border Road Preservation Project. Roads serve as indispensable terrestrial transportation infrastructure, pivotal for a nation's economic, social, cultural, and environmental prosperity. Premature degradation of road pavements before their designed service life presents a significant challenge, often attributed to factors such as vehicle axle overloading. However, other contributing elements like contractors' non-adherence to quality management systems, the use of substandard materials, malfunctioning equipment, and inadequate supervision also play substantial roles. This research aims to systematically identify distinct groups of factors affecting asphalt pavement work quality through Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and to quantitatively assess their significant influence on quality using multiple linear regression. The findings from this study are anticipated to offer robust recommendations for enhancing road construction quality management and practices in similar infrastructure projects.
