This article presents a detailed analysis of the typology and geometric characteristics of the urban road network in Porto-Novo, Benin. Based on a combination of field surveys, satellite images, and cadastral maps, the study identifies the different categories of roads (main, secondary, and tertiary) and examines their geometric parameters such as width, radius of curvature, and alignment continuity. The results highlight deficiencies in sizing and maintenance, contributing to mobility and road safety problems. The analysis leads to recommendations to upgrade and better plan the road network to promote harmonious urban development and reduce accessibility inequalities.
